How to play
- Each row and each column has a label: a club or a national team.
- Pick a square and type a footballer who played for both, for example a club and a country. The surname alone is enough, and small typos are forgiven.
- You have nine guesses for the whole board. Every guess counts, right or wrong.
- A footballer can fill only one square, so save your rare answers for the hard ones.
- When the board is full or your guesses run out, you see your score, the most picked answer in each empty square and the countdown to the next grid.
How the score works
- Every filled square is worth 100 points.
- On top of that, each square earns a rarity bonus. If only 3% of today's players named the same footballer as you, the bonus is 97 points; the more popular your pick, the smaller the bonus.
- Rarity is live: it changes as more people play the same board during the day.
Tips for a higher score
- Start with the square you are surest about. A wrong guess still costs one of your nine.
- Think of players who moved abroad: a club from one country and a national team from another is often the easiest pair.
- Skip the obvious superstar when you know a rarer name. It is worth more and keeps the star for a harder square.
